485 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the water, sewerage and housing projects for which an allocation of funding has been made in each local authority in County Monaghan since 1997; the stage of development; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Expenditure by local authorities on major schemes included in my Department's water services investment programme is recouped by the Department on an individual project basis. Details of such recoupments to Monaghan local authorities are set out in Table 1 below.

Table 2 includes details of the allocations to Monaghan County Council under the devolved rural water programme during the period concerned.

The total amount of capital expenditure on the local authority housing construction-acquisition programme, which is funded by a combination of Exchequer capital grants and internal capital receipts, in County Monaghan for each of the years 1997 to 2001 is set out in Table 3.

The number of dwellings started-acquired and the number of dwellings completed-acquired for the years 1997 to 2000 in County Monaghan is set out in Table 4. Details of the number of dwellings started and completed in County Monaghan for 2001 will be published in my Department's annual housing statistics bulletin.
