Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Heritage Plans.

John Perry

Question:

624 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands her views on whether the £10 million allocated for support of county heritage plans for five years will be secured; the guarantees she will give that the funds will be ring-fenced for this purpose to ensure that the County Sligo heritage plan will receive £60,000 per annum for five years; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that this is the first county heritage plan or a framework to manage heritage locally on a partnership basis; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [25870/01]

I am not in a position to indicate to the Deputy what arrangements will be put in place to support county-local heritage plans until such time as the proposed national heritage plan has been approved for publication by the Government.
