Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

John McGuinness

Question:

678 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reasons for the delay in completing the registration of a dealing for a site at Anamult, Bennettsbridge, County Kilkenny, by a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if there is a backlog; and the steps being taken to reduce the waiting list. [26188/01]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the dealing number, referred to by the Deputy, refers to an application for first registration which was lodged on 7 August 2001. I should mention that the applicant's name differs from that given by the Deputy. I am further informed that queries in relation to this dealing issued to the lodging solicitors on 29 August 2001 and that the application cannot proceed until these queries have been satisfactorily resolved. However, I assure the Deputy that, on receipt of a satisfactory response, the matter will be dealt with as soon as possible.
