Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - Residency Permits.

Proinsias De Rossa

Question:

702 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if an application is being processed for residency for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6; the length of time this process will take; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26584/01]

My Department has no record of having received an application for permission to remain in respect of the person in question. It is open to this person to make an application for residency based on her parentage of an Irish born – Irish citizen – child and my Department will evaluate such an application in the normal way. It is also, I understand, open to the person in question to apply to the Passport Office for an Irish passport for her Irish citizen child which will facilitate the child's travel abroad.
