Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - Sports Capital Programme.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

719 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when a club (details supplied) in County Donegal will receive a grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26399/01]

A grant of £80,000 – 101,579 – was provisionally allocated to the club in question under the 2000 sports capital programme admin istered by my Department. Among the conditions which must be met before a grant payment can be made is that a deed of trust has to be executed by the club. The deed of trust provides inter alia for a refund of the grant in the event of the facility not continuing to be used for the purposes for which the grant was allocated. The deed of trust is executed by the Chief State Solicitor's Office and the grant will be formally confirmed and payment made when the Deed has been executed.
