Question:796 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in having payment of a transport grant issued to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [26372/01]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department issued a payment to the family in question on 24 October 2001. This payment reflected transport costs to end September 2001 plus the estimated cost of transport for the period to end December 2001.
