120 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the uniform set of regulations and specifications proposed for pedelecs in the European Parliament debate of 25 June 1999; and if he will make a statement regarding the implementation of these regulations and specifications here. 121 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on whether in view of the potential of pedelecs to reduce traffic congestion and pollution, they should be exempt from road tax; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27319/01]

I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 705, 706, 717 and 732 of 3 October 2001. The position is unchanged.
