41 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he will instruct his Department and a company (details supplied) to re-assess a forestry application by a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27268/01]
An application for grant aid for the afforestation of the area in question was refused by the forest service of my Department in August 2001 on the grounds that as the land in question had a high water table and was not suitable for afforestation. A formal appeal against this decision may be lodged with the forest service in Johnstown Castle, Wexford.
