Question:

186 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 148 of 16 October 2001, he will provide further details concerning foreign military landings here in September and October 2001 and the most up to date data for November 2001; the type and nationality of each foreign military aircraft that landed here during this period; the airport at which the aircraft landed; the date of landing; and the destination of each aircraft. The number of foreign military aircraft, including ministerial transports, granted permission to land in the State was 41 in September, 25 in October and 17 for the period 1-10 November. The following were granted permission to land one or more military aircraft in the State during the period 1 September-10 November: Algeria, Belgium, China, Egypt, France, Georgia, Italy, Lithuania, New Zealand, Palestinian Authority, Russian Federation, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA. For security reasons, I am not in a position to provide the additional information sought by the Deputy.
