Vol. 543 No. 5

Written Answers. - Travel Costs.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

305 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on whether it is fair that contributions towards the costs of travelling regularly from west Cork to Dublin for treatment are not made to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [27551/01]

The provision of services in the Cork region is, in the first instance, the statutory responsibility of the Southern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer at the board to look into the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
