Vol. 543 No. 5

Written Answers. - Vaccination Programme.

Bernard Allen

Question:

352 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make a statement on the situation whereby the work of the State's main advisory group on vaccines and immunisation is being inhibited due to the medical workload of its members. [28101/01]

The immunisation advisory committee of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland meet on a regular basis to examine a range of issues relating to immunisation. My Department has received no communication from the committee in relation to the issue referred to by the Deputy. However, I acknowledge the work done by the members of the committee, particularly in view of their professional commitments.
