Question:

472 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of asylum seekers who have been deported in each of the past 12 months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28052/01]

I am informed that the total number of asylum seekers deported over the past 12 months amounted to 295 with the monthly breakdown as set out on the following list. In addition, 17 persons left the State over the past 12 months before deportation orders could be enforced.
