Michael Creed

Question:

83 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the number of land owners paying annuities in respect of lands purchased from the Land Commission; and if his proposals to encourage a buyout of these annuities. [28370/01]

At present 6,500 farmers have land annuity commitments amounting to almost £1.7 million annually. The position regarding the most appropriate methods of annuity collection which could include buy-out arrangements continues to be regularly reviewed.
