Question:179 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a clerical position will be offered to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29194/01]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 178 and 179 together.
It is understood that both persons mentioned applied for temporary positions in the Sligo office of my Department. As indicated in the advertisement, applicants will be short listed and only those short listed will be called for interview. Following these interviews, offers of temporary employment are made to the successful candidates as vacancies arise.
I am not in a position to provide further information on these applicants as the Civil Service has very strict regulations on canvassing for positions.
