Vol. 544 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Reliefs.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

183 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Finance if there are potential benefits, such as tax breaks, for those who decide to use alternative building materials, such as straw. [29218/01]

The cost incurred in the use of straw as a building material would be considered as a normal trading expense of the building contractor and subject to the same treatment for tax purposes as other building materials. There are no special tax breaks for the use of straw as a building material.
