195 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Health and Children his plans to change the criteria for the motorised transport grant to enable persons with Down's syndrome to avail of it; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29089/01]
All allowances and grants for people with disabilities which come under the aegis of my Department, including motorised transport grant, are currently being examined by an inter-health board working group. The deliberations of this group are nearing completion and any changes in the schemes will be considered in the light of the group's recommendations and available resources.
