235 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the amount of capital expenditure which was spent by his Department since July 1997 to 1 November 2001; the percentage of this which was spent in County Wicklow; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29284/01]

Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation (Dr. McDaid):

The total amount of capital expenditure by my Department from July 1997 to 1 November 2001 under the sports capital programme, the local authority swimming pool programme and the Croke Park development grant is £79,903,908, 101,457,035.

Of the £59,903,908, 76,062,273, spent under the sports capital programme and the local authority swimming pool programme, £4,131,820, 5,246,329, was spent in County Wicklow which represents 6.9% of the capital expenditure from my Department under these programmes.
