Question:

167 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a payment relating to sheep was refused in a case (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29941/01]

Following additional documentary checks and controls which were put in place during the foot and mouth disease alert, a query arose in the course of processing the ewe premium application lodged by the person named which was resolved by an on-farm inspection. His application was subsequently cleared for payment which issued on 31 October last.

Question:

168 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a slaughter premium payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30007/01]

The person named had five animals slaughtered on 3 July 2001. Payments in respect of July slaughtering will be made in December when all relevant checks are complete.
