Vol. 545 No. 1

Written Answers. - Health Board Allowances.

Liam Aylward

Question:

191 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will extend the mobility allowance to include persons who are over 66 years of age; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29557/01]

The allowances and grants for people with disabilities that come under the aegis of my Department, including mobility allowance, are currently being examined by an inter-health board working group. The deliberations of this group are nearing completion and any changes in the schemes will be considered in light of the group's recommendations and available resources.
