205 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to a warning issued by the Irish Medical Organisation at the oral hearing of the public service benchmarking body regarding the recruitment and retention of non-consultant hospital doctors; and his plans in this regard. Health service employers were represented at the oral hearing of the public service benchmarking body on non-consultant hospital doctors. The recruitment and retention of NCHD's is a matter which is being addressed by my Department and by health service employers, having regard to the report of the Forum on Medical Manpower, the EU directive on working hours and through different initiatives at local and national level.
