Vol. 545 No. 1

Written Answers. - Recognition of Association.

Michael Noonan

Question:

217 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to requests from an association (details supplied) for formal recognition; if he is in consultation with this association; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29849/01]

Officials from my Department have met with representatives of this association to discuss the future development of the profession. However, as the creation of new grades or grading structures within the health service is in the first instance a matter for health service managers, the association has been advised to contact the Health Service Employers Agency in order that the issue might be examined further.
