Vol. 545 No. 4

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Tom Hayes

Question:

193 Mr. T. Hayes asked the Minister for Finance when a decision will be made on decentralisation in south County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30228/01]

I am determined that decisions in relation to a new programme of decentralisation should be taken only after proper deliberation. In view of my determination in this regard I am not in a position to say definitively when the Government will be in a position to take decisions in relation to such a programme other than to say that such decisions will be taken as soon as is practicable after the conclusion of the ongoing deliberations. Therefore, I am not in a position to comment on the likelihood of any particular location being included in the programme.
