Vol. 545 No. 4

Written Answers. - Driving Tests.

Michael Ring

Question:

289 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on whether a person (details supplied) in County Mayo should have to pay a further fee to sit a driver theory test. [30427/01]

The driver theory testing service, which is operated as a public private partnership project, has procedures in place for dealing with cases where an applicant has not given the required five working days notice of cancelling an appointment. Medical evidence to support the reason for non-attendance may be addressed to the Customer Service Manager, Driver Theory Testing Service, PO Box 144, Drogheda, County Louth. The granting of a further test without payment of a fee would be a matter for determination by the driver theory testing service.
