Vol. 545 No. 4

Written Answers. - Garda Pay.

Enda Kenny

Question:

359 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if an allowance is paid by his Department to officers or agents of his Department for service in an official Gaeltacht area or due to the fact that a Gaeltacht area exists in the county in which they serve; the rate and conditions which apply to this allowance; the numbers who availed of the allowance in 2000-01; the amount provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30731/01]

The only allowance of this type payable is the Garda Gaeltacht allowance, details of which have been previously supplied to the Deputy. In this regard, I refer the Deputy to my replies to Questions Nos. 900 to 906 of 3 October 2001 and Questions Nos. 202 to 204 of 14 November 2001.
