Vol. 545 No. 4

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Michael Noonan

Question:

422 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will report on the case of a person (details supplied) in County Limerick who has applied for a classroom assistant; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the child in question is unable to begin schooling until a decision has been made with regard to this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30823/01]

I am aware of the case in question.

An application for special needs assistant support for the child in question has been under consideration in my Department. I have asked that a decision on this matter be made as speedily as possible.
