Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

124 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received an application for a speech therapist to be employed at a school (details supplied); if so, when this post will be approved; the arrangements which are available to the pupils of the school to have speech therapy training; if this facility will be offered in conjunction with another educational establishment in the locality; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31043/01]

Responsibility for the provision of services for people with an intellectual disability in the Dublin region rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
