136 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Health and Children the discussions which have taken place within his Department with the Eastern Regional Health Authority or other relevant agencies with a view to establishing hospice facilities in the Dun Laoghaire area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31131/01]

No discussions have taken place with the Eastern Regional Health Authority specifically on this development.

The further development of palliative care ser vices in the ERHA area is currently being examined in the context of the recommendations of the report of the National Advisory Committee on Palliative Care which was launched in October 2001.
