171 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the steps he will take to expedite an application for registration by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31151/01]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application for first registration which was lodged on 20 December 1999. I am further informed that queries were issued to the applicant's solicitor on 18 April 2000 and that correspondence on the matter has been ongoing since that date. The latest position is that the Land Registry is awaiting a response to queries issued on 4 July 2001. The application will receive further attention on receipt of a satisfactory response to the queries raised.
