72 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Health and Children his proposals to approve permanent positions for nursing staff who are working at var ious hospitals within the North-Eastern Health Board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30938/01]

The staffing of the hospitals concerned is primarily a matter for the NEHB. The establishment of permanent positions is a matter for the board having regard to its service plans.
