Vol. 546 No. 1

Written Answers. - Sports Capital Programme.

Jack Wall

Question:

168 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the amount of grants made to a club (details supplied) in County Kildare; the amount of grant outstanding to the club; and the percentage of the cost that his Department will make to the club in regard to the club's application. [31246/01]

A grant of £35,000 – 44,440 – was allocated to the club in question under the 2000 sports capital programme. To date, the club has been paid £15,234 – 19,343 – of the grant. The balance of the grant will be paid when the club submits further relevant invoices related to the project for which the grant was allocated. In line with the terms and conditions of the sports capital programme, the invoices submitted will paid at the rate of 70% up to the maximum of the grant allocated. It should also be noted that an amount of 5% of each grant is retained pending the consultant's-architect's certificate that the project has been satisfactorily completed.
