Vol. 546 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Tom Hayes

Question:

14 Mr. T. Hayes asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will make the necessary funding available to Tipperary South Riding County Council for the repair of Stonepark Bridge, Glen of Aherlow, County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28484/01]

Tipperary SR County Council has submitted an application for funding in 2002 of seven schemes including Stonepark Bridge, Aherlow, with a total estimated cost of 2,710,640 under the EU co-financed specific improvement grants scheme. All applications for funding in 2002 under the scheme will be considered in my Department, having regard to their compliance with the eligibility criteria, the need to prioritise projects, competing demands from other local authorities and the funds available for the scheme in 2002. I intend to announce the non-national road grant allocations for 2002 to local authorities early next year, including allocations under the EU scheme.
