Written Answers. - GP Co-Operatives.

Bernard Allen

Question:

183 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make funding available for general practitioners co-ops in order that all necessary resources will be made available for their development. [31402/01]

My Department has made substantial funding available to health boards in the Estimates process this year for the purpose of developing their out of hours co-operatives, in line with the commitments given in the recently launched primary health care strategy to have the GP co-operatives available nationally by end 2003.
