185 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children when the project team's report on the infrastructural requirements in respect of hospital facilities for Athlone, County Westmeath will be published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31429/01]

My Department conveyed approval in July 2000 to the Midland Health Board to establish a project team to examine the provision of a health service infrastructure in Athlone.

I understand that work on the preparation of a brief for the project is being progressed at present. As this is a matter for the Midland Health Board in the first instance, I have asked the chief executive officer of the Midland Health Board to reply direct to the Deputy in relation to the matter.
