318 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if monies will be provided for the development of the road from Shrataggle to Belderrig in north Mayo; if she has received an application for the development of such a road; if an estimate has been provided; if the proposed road has been inspected by her Department officials, and if not, if she will make immediate arrangements for same; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that I was very recently in a position to sanction funding of £120,000 or 50% of the costs to Mayo County Council to enable it to carry out improvement works to the road in question. It is a condition of the grant that Mayo County Council provides matching funding for this project.
