Vol. 546 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Michael Creed

Question:

416 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will make provision for a taxi service for a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [31736/01]

I understand a school transport service was made available to the person in question during the last school year. However, because of difficulties which arose, this service was subsequently withdrawn. In August 2001, my Department sanctioned a transport grant towards private transport arrangements for the family in question and this grant remains in place. I have asked my officials to review the transport arrangements for the pupil in question. When this review is completed, my officials will be in contact with the child's family.
