Vol. 546 No. 4

Written Answers. - Alternative Farm Enterprises.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

70 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when he proposes to re-introduce funding for greyhound and dog kennels, as an alternative enterprise to farming; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that dog owners have expressed concern regarding the withdrawal of funding. [31995/01]

The housing and handling of greyhounds is not a specific sector in the current alternative enterprise scheme. The possibility of including greyhounds under the scheme is being reviewed.
