Vol. 546 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Code.

John Perry

Question:

81 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Finance the progress made by the Revenue Commissioners regarding a stamp duty application by a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32030/01]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the case in question was submitted on 25 September 2001 to the stamp duty office for adjudication as the transfer involved related parties. The case has been assessed and the stamp duty liability involved was notified to the solicitors on 5 December 2001. Unfortunately, the incorrect amount of stamp duty was then submitted by the solicitors. They have now forwarded the full amount due and the deed was stamped and is being returned without delay.
