Question:

167 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Health and Children the situation regarding people over 70 years of age who did not apply for a free medical card on 1 July 2001 and were hospitalised before they applied for same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32390/01]

From 1 July, persons aged 70 years and over have, by legislation, full eligibility for medical services.
