Vol. 546 No. 5

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Services.

Noel Ahern

Question:

168 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Health and Children the situation regarding access to speech therapy facilities in national schools; the entry criteria for a special class in St. Patrick's national school, Drumcondra; if he will examine the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9. [32395/01]

The provision of health related support services, including speech and language therapy, is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
