Vol. 546 No. 5

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Charles Flanagan

Question:

187 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding funding for sewage treatment works for Ballyroan, County Laois; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32256/01]

This scheme has been approved for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative at an estimated cost of 1.01 million. Laois County Council has recently submitted proposals for amendments to the scheme as originally approved, involving extension of the sewer network and relocation of the treatment plant. A further technical report has been requested from the council by my Department to facilitate consideration of the proposed amendments.
