Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Gregory – the lack of speech and language services for 22 children in need of speech therapy at St. Vincent's infant boys school, North William Street, Dublin 1; (2) Deputy Donal Moynihan – the progress, if any, made in finding a replacement industry for the GSI plant at Macroom; (3) Deputy O'Sullivan – the need to audit the implementation of the recommendation of the national task force on suicide in order to ensure that appropriate preventative strategies and responsive measures are in place throughout the country; (4) Deputy Fitzgerald – the recent report on asylum seekers which outlined appalling conditions in their accommodation and other aspects of their life here; (5) Deputy Perry – the need for the provision of a new renal dialysis unit in Sligo General Hospital; (6) Deputy Upton – the need to arrange the refurbishment of facilities at Scoil Mologa, Clareville Road, Dublin 6; (7) Deputy Rabbitte – the delay in publishing the report of the consultants into the Stadium-Campus Ireland project and the need for the early publication of the report and the disclosure of its findings; (8) Deputy Allen – the need to ensure that the Irish Missionary Union receives a proportionate share of the Irish overseas aid budget to continue its work in partnership with Irish Government agencies in contributing to the development process overseas; (9) Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny)– the inconsistent answers to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 186 of 6 December 2001 and 165 of 12 December 2001; (10) Deputies McGrath and Penrose – the imminent loss of 101 jobs at Rhode power station, the economic and social effects on the hinterland and proposals for possible job replacement opportunities for this area; (11) Deputy Ó Caoláin – the need to recognise and act upon the employment situation in County Monaghan and to support the establishment of a business park in the town of Monaghan; (12) Deputy Gerard Reynolds – the reason for the delay in providing funding for the provision of a new primary school in Mohill, County Leitrim; (13) Deputy Stanton – the need to sanction improvements to include removal of asbestos and replacement of windows at Kilcredan primary school in County Cork and also to sanction an extension to the school.

The matters raised by Deputies Donal Moynihan, McGrath, Penrose, Upton and John Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) have been selected for discussion.
