248 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the provision he intends to make for a new courthouse in Kilcock, County Kildare from the Department's Vote; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32446/01]
I wish to refer the Deputy to my answer to Question No. 693 of 6 November 2001, in which I stated that the Courts Service is the independent body which has statutory responsibility for the provision, management and maintenance of court buildings. I also set out details of the level of funding which the Government has provided for the courts building programme this year and informed the Deputy that it is a matter for the Courts Service as to how funding provided for its building programme is allocated.
