Vol. 546 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

256 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when a club (details supplied) in County Donegal will receive a grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32210/01]

A grant of £80,000 or 102,000 was allocated to the club in question, under the 2000 Sports Capital Programme operated by my Department.

Under the terms and conditions of the programme, the club is required to execute a deed of trust. This deed of trust will provide, inter alia, for a refund of the grant in the event of the facility not continuing to be used for the purpose for which the grant was allocated. This matter is currently being dealt with by the Chief State Solicitor's office.

The club has fulfilled the other requirements under the programme and payment of the grant will be made when the deed of trust has been executed.

Dick Spring

Question:

257 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if and when a grant will be paid to the Tinteán Traditional Theatre Group, Ballybunion, County Kerry. [32349/01]

I would like to inform the Deputy that the only grant scheme administered by my Department is the Sports Capital Programme and that sports unit has no record of receiving an application for a grant from the Tinteán traditional theatre group.
