262 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the position regarding the provision of recreational and amenity facilities at Newtown House, Leixlip, County Kildare; the position in regard to advancing the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32411/01]
An application for funding for Newtown House was made by Leixlip Youth Premises Group Limited under the 2001 Sports Capital Programme. My Department informed the group that their application was unsuccessful on 13 June 2001.
The 2002 Sports Capital Programme was recently advertised and the deadline for receipt of applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, 4 January 2002.
