Question:

280 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason adequate facilities have not been provided for the needs of children attending the special needs class at St. Joseph's national school, Skibbereen; and if he will ensure that proper facilities are made available without further delay. [32245/01]

Architectural planning for the provision of improved accommodation at St. Joseph's national school is under way. At this stage it is not possible to say when the project will go on site.

Question:

281 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation regarding the provision of a new school (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32246/01]

An application has been received for capital funding in respect of a proposed project at the school in question. Decisions on the appointment of design teams in respect of pro jects will be taken in the light of the recent allocation for primary school buildings in last week's budget. My Department will be in contact with the school authorities as soon as possible.
