Treaty of Amsterdam: Motions.

I move:

That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option, provided by Article 3 of the Fourth Protocol set out in the Treaty of Amsterdam, to notify the President of the Council of the European Union that it wishes to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measure:

a proposal for a Council regulation (EC) on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in matters of parental responsibility (O.J. No. C 332, 27.11.02 page 269)

copies of which proposed measure were laid before Dáil Éireann on 28 November 2001.

I move:

That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option, provided for by Article 3 of the Fourth Protocol to the Treaty of Amsterdam, to notify the President of the Council that it wishes to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measure:

the proposal for a Council directive on the conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for the purpose of paid employment and self-employed economic activities,

a copy of which proposed measure was laid before Dáil Éireann on 22 November 2001.
