A new central transfer scheme came into effect on 1 October 2001. This reduced to one year the length of time a person must stay with their current Department before transferring to a provincial location, and all applicants were requested to renew their applications for transfer if they wished to remain on the central transfer scheme.
The deadline for these applications is Friday, 14 December 2001. The transfer lists are being updated at present. It is expected that this updating process will be completed in mid-January 2002.
