Question:63 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has purchased a site for the Gaelscoil in Wicklow town; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2707/02]

My Department is currently acquiring a site for Gaelscoil Cill Mhantáin.
The Deputy will appreciate that the process of acquiring a site is complex and involves a detailed assessment of suitability, a valuation and legal formalities. My Department is finalising the necessary legal and other formalities and as soon as this has been done, the school authorities will be contacted. The project for a ten-classroom Gaelscoil is at the early stages of architectural planning.
