Vol. 547 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

88 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if a person (details supplied) in County Kildare qualifies for a refund of income tax paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2966/02]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes does not have enough information to determine whether the taxpayer is due a tax refund. The inspector has written to the taxpayer requesting information about her employment history and income. When the inspector receives the requested information, a review of the taxpayer's tax liability will be carried out as quickly as possible and any overpaid tax will be refunded.
