Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

206 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Health and Children if a specific grant will be allocated to voluntary umbrella organisations, such as the Mental Health Association, for the purchase of a vehicle to provide transport for people with mental health disabilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3207/02]

There is a limited amount of discretionary funding available each year from the proceeds of the national lottery for the purposes of providing grants to individuals, groups or organisations with an involvement in the provision of health services. If the Deputy is aware of an organisation which wishes to apply for lottery funding for a specific project, the organisation can contact my Department and arrangements will be made for an application form to issue to it.
